Spring Show May 2017

The May 17th meeting was the annual Spring Show. Below are pictures from the show. There are also some pictures from our Perennial Plant Sale, held on May 27. Click any image to open a fullsize version.

Annual Spring Show 2017

The colorful array of single tulips - Anne Brohan won first, second and third.

For single narcissus, Anne Brohan won first and second.

For multi-flowered narcissus, Anne Brohan won 1st, and Doreen Murphy won 2nd.

For 'Other spring bulbs - small' Anne Brohan won 1st, Mary Jane de Koos won 2nd, and Aileen Dyer won 3rd prize.

For Bleeding Hearts, Mary Jane de Koos won first

For Fern, Aileen Dyer won first

For Lamium, Mary Jane de Koos won first and second, and Aileen Dyer won third.

For Other Flowering Shrub, Doreen won first and Best in Show with a magnolia (left most), and Janet Dupré won second and third

Solomon's Seal: Aileen Dyer first, Doreen Murphy second and Anne Brohan third.

Jule Csisztu won 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Primula.

House Plants section - Winners were Aileen Dyer 1st and Doreen Murphy 2nd for flowering houseplant; Aileen Dyer for Foliage house plant, and Josée Van Amerongen for Succulents

Doreen Murphy won first in 'Large unlisted flowers (not from bulbs)'

In 'Small unlisted flowers (not from bulbs)', Doreen Murphy won 1st, Anne Brohan 2nd, and 3rd was won by both Mary Jane de Koos and Aileen Dyer

In addition to the flower show, Orysia Krywiak-Valenti demonstrated creating arrangements based on the upcoming Rose & Bloom show's decorative categories.
