Spring Show May 2014
The May 21 meeting featured the Spring Show, and also a demo of how to make a trellis with branches.

Ferns are usually not too photogenic, but this maiden hair fern is superb. A 1st for Ailsa |
 Three lamium specimens:
1st Barbara Fowler, 2nd and 3rd, Ailsa. |
 Flowering shrubs.
Joyce, 1st purple leaf sand cherry, and 2nd - azalea. 3rd, Anne - yellow indigo. |
 Spring isn't just bulbs;
Anne's Trilium won 1st, Joyce's helebores won 2nd and 3rd in the Unlisted large flowers (not bulbs). |
Unlisted small flowers: 1st prize is Ailsa's aguga, 2nd is Olive's camassia, 3rd is Ailsa's pink silene |
and honorable mention to Erika for the lady's slipper. |
These are the indoor plants. Winners were:
Aileen Dyer, Olive, Barbara Fowler, Joyce, Ailsa and Erika
In the Decorative section, Ailsa's 1st place for her interpretation of "Green Thumb". |
and this is Olive's taking 2nd prize.
